What is Contour TRL Resurfacing?

Posted on April 12, 2022

As we age, our skin is affected by many different factors, including the natural aging process, lifestyle choices, sun exposure, the climate, and more. If you are looking to turn back the clock to achieve a more youthful complexion, the Contour TRL resurfacing treatment may be a great solution!

How Does Contour TRIL Resurfacing Work?

Contour TRL (tunable resurfacing laser) is an effective way to take years off of your appearance for a boost in confidence. This laser works by removing the topmost layers of the skin, which are then replaced by healthier skin. Collagen is also stimulated as the skin heals, which is vital for achieving smoother, tighter, firmer skin and a healthy glow.

This laser is ideal for treating:

  • Hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation.
  • Fine and deep wrinkles.
  • Rough and dry skin.
  • Uneven skin tone.
  • Acne and acne scarring.
  • And more!

What to Expect During Treatment?

Before your treatment, you may be asked to follow a few preparation steps for the best results. First, you should avoid medications that may thin the blood such as Aspirin and ibuprofen. You should also avoid using skincare products that contain retinol for at least 24 hours before treatment. Alcohol and tobacco may hinder the healing process, so try to avoid these substances for at least two weeks before your appointment.

On the day of treatment, your skin will be cleansed, a local and/or topical anesthetic may be applied to ensure you are comfortable, and you will be given protective eyewear to put on. The Contour TRL device is then applied over the skin, which will emit laser energy. Treatment can last anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

After your Contour TRL treatment, you may experience mild swelling and redness, as if you had a sunburn. Within 24-72 hours after your treatment, you may also experience some mild oozing and seeping, which is not to be a concern. You should keep your skin moisturized as it heals and also avoid picking at your skin. It is also important that you use sunscreen daily to help maintain your results. Once your skin has fully healed you can enjoy a more evenly toned, glowing complexion!
