What is Dysport®?

Dysport contains botulinum toxin type A, which is a popular prescription formula used to improve the appearance of wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions, such as frowning, smiling, and squinting. The neuromodulator works by temporarily blocking nerve signals of targeted overworked muscles, causing the skin to lift and soften.

What to Expect with Dysport®

Dysport injections are non-surgical and often require little to no downtime. Your treatment will begin with a consultation with one of our dermatologists, where you will discuss your aesthetic concerns and if Dysport is the solution for you. In our Chicago, Illinois office, our dermatologists will administer precise injections of Dysport based on your individualized plan. The appointment typically lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, which makes this a perfect lunchtime procedure with vibrant and youthful results.

Dysport® Results

Initial results will be visible within one to two days after your treatment, with visible improvement of your frown lines and other wrinkles. These results will last up to four months, after which a touch-up treatment may be recommended to maintain your younger appearance.

The Side Effects of Dysport®

Side effects of Dysport are mild in nature and typically last up to one week. Common side effects include soreness and bruising around the injection site. You are allowed to wear make-up following treatment, but should avoid pressure around the treated area for several hours. If you are experiencing persistent side effects from Dysport, please contact CDAM right away.
