How Does Sofwave Work?
Sofwave works using Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology called SUPERB. This technology is an advanced and precise form of ultrasound energy which passes through the epidermis, or surface layer of the skin, to heat mid-dermal tissues. This stimulates new collagen production for a more youthful appearance. At the same time, Sofwave’s proprietary cooling mechanism, Sofcool, protects the skin. This makes Sofwave safe and suitable for all skin types and reduces any healing time after the procedure.
What to Expect with Sofwave
During Sofwave treatment, a handheld device is used to direct the ultrasound energy to the intended treatment area. Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic cream can be applied to reduce any discomfort. The Sofcool technology also helps to reduce any sensations of heat during the procedure, making Sofwave treatment very comfortable compared to other options. The treatment is non-invasive and can be completed quickly in our office, with most appointments lasting about 30-45 minutes.
Sofwave Results
Sofwave requires little to no downtime. It is generally not necessary to complete any specific post-procedure skincare steps. However, your provider may recommend options that could help enhance your results. You can immediately return to your normal routine after Sofwave treatment.
Most patients begin seeing their Sofwave results within three months of their procedure. Sofwave stimulates new collagen production, which improves elasticity and reduces wrinkles or fine lines. Collagen will continue to regenerate over time, meaning that results gradually improve over the course of about three months after the treatment is complete. Sofwave treatment may be performed to improve the appearance of sagging or drooping eyebrows, skin laxity in the submental area or neck, and fine lines or wrinkles throughout the face and neck.
