Recommended Treatment Options

At CDAM, our specialized board-certified dermatologists offer an array of treatments to help prevent and treat acne for a smooth, radiant complexion. When you visit with one of our dermatologists in Chicago, IL for acne treatment, we will thoroughly examine your skin to create a unique treatment plan, including both in-office procedures and topical and systemic medications. The following treatments are options for preventing and/or treating acne and associated scarring.

BBL Photofacial

The BBL or BroadBand Light Photofacial uses thermal energy to gently heat the topmost layers of the skin. This thermal energy not only eliminates acne-causing bacteria, but it also diminishes acne and redness associated with acne. Added benefits include minimized pores and reduction of oil glands.

Halo

The Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser combines the best of both non-ablative and ablative laser treatments. By providing glowing, smooth results, the Halo treatment is truly one of a kind. With a reduced recovery time and improved patient experience, Halo is proven to help reduce pore size and the appearance of acne scars.

Microneedling

Although Microneedling cannot be used directly on active acne, it can be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars. This treatment stimulates the production of collagen, softening scars.

Chemical peels

Our chemical peels are a superb way to improve your complexion for clearer, brighter looking skin. They not only treat active acne but also prevent future breakouts and help with reduction of scar tissue. Peels help clear clogged pores that cause acne for a clear, refreshed complexion.

TCA CROSS Therapy

TCA CROSS therapy stands for the chemical reconstruction of skin scars (CROSS) using trichloroacetic acid (TCA). This outpatient treatment is used to diminish the appearance of acne scarring in patients of all skin tones.

DiamondGlow®

DiamondGlow® treatments involve exfoliation to remove the outer layer of damaged skin and unclog pores, while at the same time incorporating a patented technology system that administers a topical serum targeted to treat acne. This treatment is versatile in that it can be used on the face, neck, and chest.
